From the very beginning, the group that would ultimately become the Urhobo Consultative Forum (UCF) recognized a pressing need for actionable solutions within the Urhobo Nation. Too many critical issues—ranging from healthcare gaps to youth unemployment—remained unresolved, often hampered by extensive dialogue but little follow-through. This widespread gap between discussion and tangible progress was the central burden that inspired the founding of Urhobo Arise in March 2024.
Motivated by the conviction that the Urhobo people deserve more than just promises, the core members of Urhobo Arise committed themselves to a new model of community development—one grounded in immediate, evidence-based action. The aim was clear: to unite like-minded Urhobo sons, daughters, and stakeholders who shared the belief that true empowerment is only possible when backed by strategic planning and consistent efforts on the ground.
